by remote software, do you mean home networking ? or accessing your pc's files from a totaly different place (ie, remote networking over the internet via a vnc console or similar ?)
if you wanna access files from an internet based network client remember you will be governed by both the speed of the internet connection where you are "now" & also your home internet speed, & remember the upload speed from your home terminal will only be about a third of the download speed.
i dunno if i explained that very well. hope you know what i mean ?
the thing i want to do is accesing my other pc with this one, both are connected with LAN. So no worries about speed. And i know what my uploading speed is... and it's not 1/3 of downloading... it's about 1/10 th cos of my lame net lol... but it doesnt matter cos i want it thru lan.
i want something like remote desktop thats built in windows but i dont rly like it lols i want software like they use in net cafe 's to monitor and being able to take control of the other pc without running to the other pc , pressing ok ok i agree to do it blahblah ( i can the 1st time, but the other i expect it automaticly)
and something i forgot to ask, can you actually 'share' a scanner in a network? cos i chose to share a printer and stuff, even a dvd rom lol but i can't share a scanner :/ lame...
and sorry kai for interrupting your topic :/ can someone move like the last 5 posts to the help topic? :/ i dont have that kind of power anymore lol
ah, so it's not rly remote software, more like lan managment ? i'll go look for you now m8 :)
i have 5 pc's on my home network, (not counting ps3 & xbox lol) & 3 different internet connections & file sharing works fine, but i just use the built in xp network stuff, i assume you want something with a java(or like) GUI ?
nah the wizard is not good enough, it makes me able to use the files but i wanted to use the other pc, not only the pc's hdds. i want to be able for example to turn it off from here ( turning on won't work tho )
i want something like 'teamviewer' but kind of less pressing ok's all the time on both pc's
