do u mean like pressing this button and taking this weapon or saying somethin like simple binds or admin commands ?

For a good game you should get those settings:

Open ut2004, settings, Input, configure keys

U must set those keys for the base of a good game ;)

Movement:

Forward: Key1   W
Backward: Key1   S
Strafe left: Key1   A
Strafe Right: key1  D
Jump: key1  SPACE

-----------------------

Weapons:

Fire: key1    Left mouse
Alt-Fire: key1   Right Mouse
Nextweapon: key1   Mousewheel Up
PrevWeapon: key1   Mousewheel Down



Those are very important for a good gameplay.
But its just the base.
If u want improve more your gameplay u MUST set some binds for the weapons.

On configure keys on "Weapons" u should find the names of the weapons like Shock Rifle, Sniper etc.
You should set those keys like this:

Weapons:

Shock Rifle: Key1  X
Sniper: Key1  F
Rockets: Key1  Q
Minigun: Key1  C
LinkGun: Key1  Z
And the most important the Shieldgun*: Key1  CTRL


Those settings called Weapons Binds increase the fast that you have for switch weapon, becouse switching weapon with the mousewheel its too slow. Switch weapon with the binds its too fast



* Having the shieldgun binded its very important becouse you can escape more quickly in a fight and protect from the hits of the enemy

i ve like 7 weapons binden in my mouse without 'previous-next scrolling' lol shield at mid mouse is a standard :) separate button for shock is also something u should have. well actually u need everythin lol ... xd but u need to be aware of the getting-used-to-it-time xd cos you could end up wanting shoot shock with shieldgun like me last night xd which causes a lot of deaths xd

but i only need middle mouse to switch fast cuz the ones i use more are shock and shield.. at least on m3. piped weapon switch rocks! :p

buy a new mouse mate :)
